FOREWORD

This book of poetry is a labor of love. I thank The Lord Jesus Christ, that, through the power Of the Holy Spirit, which resides in me, I have been blessed with the gift to write prose, prose that is totally inspired by the Holy Spirit. I am merely the vessel. But it would not have come about without the urging, and encouragement of my brother in the Lord, Peter Perri. Peter has been my spiritual mentor and guardian angel for many years, and I am blessed that he’s my Christian brother and friend. It is my hope and prayer. That these poems of faith are a light to someone’s darkness and a blessing. May they perhaps, help someone find The Truth. Special mention also to Miriam, “The Little Warrior,” for her constant encouragement and faith.

“CONFLICT”

“If I do this, then who will know?”
Sometimes we say inside.
To justify the things we do
That throws our faith aside.

One Spirit says, “Go on, have fun,
Do what you want to do!”
The Other says, “You know its wrong!”
It often makes us blue.

But when I pray to Jesus Christ,
And ask for His Good Way,
He guides me to the Narrow Path,
That I not go astray.

He helps me know the Path that’s right,
(It’s Lit with His True Love!)
So our conflict need not be hard,
If guided from above.

With Jesus’ help I know that we
Can turn Satan away.
But he’ll be back to try again
And when he does – JUST PRAY!

NAILS AND THORNS!
NAILS AND THORNS!
PREDESTINED FATE
BEFORE HE WAS BORN

TO CARRY THE BURDEN
OF ALL OF OUR SINS
ASSURING THAT SATAN
WOULD NEVER WIN

BLOODY AND BEATEN
ON THAT CROSS HE CRIED,
“FATHER, WHY HAVE YOU
PUT ME ASIDE?”

BUT HE WAS REDEEMED,
AND IN HEAVEN HE REIGNS,
UNTIL THE GREAT DAY
HE COMES BACK AGAIN.

“JESUS ENDURED”

JESUS ENDURED
THE WHIPS AND CHAINS,
AND SATAN SAW IT ALL.

JESUS ENDURED
THE SCORN AND THORNS
AND SATAN LAUGHED,
WITH MIRTH.

BUT SATAN LOST
WHEN JESUS DIED
AND ROSE
THREE DAYS FROM THEN
FOR HE KNOWS
JESUS CHRIST STILL LIVES,
AND WILL COME BACK AGAIN.

 

“A PRIVILEGE TO PRAY’

IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO PRAY,
TO COM-MUNE WITH GOD,
IT DOESN’T SEEM STRANGE,
PECULIAR OR ODD,
HE LISTENS TO ME,
AND UNBURDENS MY SOUL.
HE COMFORTS AND LEADS ME
IN THE WAY I SHOULD GO.

IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO PRAY,
IT MAKES MY HEART LIGHT.
I PRY IN THE MORNING,
NOON TIME AND NIGHT.
I NEVER TIRE
OF TALKING TO HIM.
I LISTEN, AND HE HELPS ME
TO OVERCOME SIN.

IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO PRAY
WHY NOT TRY IT, AND SEE!
OH, HOW MUCH BETTER
YOUR LIFE WILL BE!
YOU’LL SMILE MORE OFTEN,
YOUR STEPS WILL BE LIGHT!
‘CAUSE PRAYING TO GOD
SETS EV’RYTHING RIGHT.
